Just found this little gem of a site and I wanted to share it with you: YourBrowser.is.
Have you ever been testing a site and a client says they are having a certain problem you can’t replicate? You ask them what browser they are using and they say something like “AOL”? There are other sites that give useful info like browser size, or IP address, but this site combines all the information you need in one place. Trying to figure out why something is not working for a client and then realize they don’t even have javascript enabled? This little site can save you lots of time and save lots of frustration for your client.
Simply set up a free account with them to generate a link to send to your clients. Once your client clicks on the link, all their information will be sent to you in an email, like screen resolution and browser window size, and platform. No guess work. No need to spend time educating the client. It will all be right there in black and white.
Do you have another site that you use to check a client’s environment? I would love to hear about it.
