Use BackupBuddy to Search and Replace in your Database

I’m a fan of the Better Search Replace plugin. If you’re moving a development site live, it can make things much easier than having to go through and replace all the old URL’s. It’s also great when you’re upgrading your site from http to https. But if you already have BackupBuddy installed, you don’t need to install another plugin.

Note: Use with caution! Can’t be undone!

• Simply go to BackupBuddy > Server Tools.
• Then click the Database tab
• Next, scroll down to the bottom and find the “search and replace” option.

Again, I can’t say this too often – make sure you have a database backup before you do this because it cannot be undone. And be sure to use the exact case that you want. Don’t simply change all “http” to “https” because you may have some url’s that are legitimately coming from http sites.
