The other day I had a client complaining that her email subscribers weren’t able to view her images in the email. I had set up her email subscription through Feedburner and didn’t understand why there was a problem. I double checked that she was using absolute image links, and she was, but when I checked the Feedburner code, I saw that they had been turned into relative links. Why? I have no idea, but I had to do something about it.
Then I came upon this plugin: Absolute RSS. I worried because it hadn’t been updated in over 2 years, but it did exactly what I needed it to do – adjusts your links in RSS to use absolute links so that they work correctly in all feed readers. And, viola! The images began showing up. No configuring anything, just activate the plugin and it works.
So, if you are using an RSS feed with your WordPress site, Absolute RSS is a “must have” plugin.
