BackupBuddy is one of the few paid plugins that I consider well worth the money. One of the reasons I love it is that it makes it incredibly easy to create full backups of your site, not only of the files but the database as well. And if you don’t have a backup of the database, you really don’t have a backup of your WordPress site.
Here’s how easy it is:
First, of course, is always make sure you have the most recent version of the plugin. Then…
1) Go to BackupBuddy > Backup
(If you see the Quick Setup Wizard here the first time instead, simply hit the “Skip Setup Wizard for Now” button to be taken to the page above. )
2) Click on the Complete Backup button
3) Once the download completes, you will be able to download the backup to your computer, or let BackupBuddy save them.
4) Done!
You can also set up BackupBuddy to automatically create backups on a schedule that you choose, but if you do this, be sure to also set it to automatically delete extra backups as the number of files can quickly get unwieldy.
